"JOIN THE SAFARI, CATCH LIONISM"
|
|
| After high school, Lion
Cathy took up snow skiing and water skiing. She enjoyed the outdoors
so much that she decided she wanted to have a job that kept her outside.
She started with a tree trimming company and after five years started her
career as park Maintenance Worker with the City of Davis. She worked
in the city parks planting trees, shrubs and flowers. She ran tractors
and lawn mowers, built play equipment for children to play on and did anything
and everything required to make a park safe and beautiful. She worked
that job for 19 years and retired on her 50th birthday.
Lion Cathy joined the Davis Early-Birds in 1993 and quickly became very involved in the club. She was president and secretary and enjoyed Lions very much. She transferred to Davis Host club and was president for many years. She organized 3 very successful golf tournaments and chaired three “Dog-a-thons” in Woodland and Davis. Lion Cathy also helped with the Beep-Baseball World Series for the Blind when it came to Sacramento. Lion Cathy has served District 4-C5 as Wolfskill Zone Chair, Dos Rios Region Chair and as District Extension Chair. She has volunteered with many clubs throughout the district, helping with fundraisers and events. Lion Cathy is a member of the Woodland Host Lions Club. As District Governor, Lion Cathy plans to work hard to help the district grow but knows that she can only do it when all the Lions of the district work together. |
